That is the title of an essay about modern typography by Robin Kinross, of which text is given to me. The text includes many stories concerning various designers and the trends of thoughts in art, and contains difficult words which need notes or comments somewhere for the readers to understand better. I had to make the readers find the corresponding notes easily. I decided to make the book with the folded sheets of translucent papers. Open end edges are bound, and the main texts are printed on the outside of folded sheets. If there is any word needing a note, its corresponding note is printed on the inside of the folded page at the same location where the word is located on the other side of the paper. Because the paper is translucent, the note can be seen through the paper, and the reader can peep at the note casually. When the reader wants to read the note more carefully, he or she can cut the folded edge, open the page, and read the note. I would like to make the main subject and the contents be transformed into a form of a book. I want to avoid a dull routine of editing and the wild decoration. I would rather have an efficient and effective design of a book. 140x200x5mm |
